Mise en scene Sound Editing In response to being emasculated by Benny and a girl that rejects him, Lil Ze emasculates the boyfriend of the girl twice; firstly by forcing him to strip in public humiliating him; then secondly raping his girlfriend and forcing Ned to watch. This is also in response to Benny leaving the slum with his girlfriend (Angelica), which Lil Ze resents , believing the girl is taking his only real friend Benny away from him. He is then in a sense exacting a revenge against Angelica and the woman that turned him down by emasculating her boyfriend and then later raping her. . The camera is unsteady, the shots are fast, close ups are used = frantic, uneasy atmosphere to encouragement empathy with Ned . Mid shots to also establish the very public environment and therefore emphasise how humiliating this experience is - Ned's relationship to the environment .
